WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo’s education programs are a professional, curriculum-based education service. We treat our animals as an educational resource, presenting them alongside educative programs, which allow your class to identify the different requirements of Australian flora and fauna. Our curriculum based guided programs are delivered by passionate educators, who inspire and engage students through the exploration and interactivity of WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo’s amazing zones.
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo offers hands-on, interactive, curriculum based fully guided tours for Australian students visiting WILD Life Sydney Zoo in our WILD Tots (Early Childhood), WILD Kids (K - 6) & WILD Teens (7-12) programs.
Discover live birds, snakes, lizards, spiders, and insects, and explore our extensive animal artefact collection. Students can use technology to enhance their learning and explore our various habitat zones and exhibits. After your guided tour with one of our zoo educators you can then spend free time with your students until you are ready to leave.

Suitable for Early Childhood
This is a play based activity session where children learn through exploration on a variety of topics around our gardens and backyard buddies.

Suitable for Kindergarten - Year 6
This is an hour long guided tour that takes students through the zoo with an expert zoo keeper. Students will learn and discover key facts about our Australian fauna and flora that call WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo home.
$15 per student as this is a lesson focused tour.

Suitable for Kindergarten - Year 2
This is an hour long guided tour through the zoo with one of our expert zoo keepers. This tour focuses on the different habitats at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and the Australian animals that like to call them home. The tour will include animal encounter for the students to get up close to some of the animals they have learnt about.

Suitable for Year 1 & 2
This is an hour long guided tour through the zoo with one of our expert zoo keepers. This tour focuses on the different external features of our Australian animals and why they help the animals to survive in the wild. The tour will include an animal encounter that allows the students to get up close to some of the animals they have learnt about.

Suitable for K - 2
This is a one hour guided tour through our mini beast zone with one of our expert zoo keepers. This tour focuses on what are mini beasts, what habitats they like to live in and how we can make our backyards mini beast friendly. This tour will include an animal encounter with some of the Australian animals that call WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo home.

Suitable for Year 3 & 4
This is a one hour guided tour with one of our expert zoo keepers. This tour focuses on different food webs that exist within the zoo. Students will learn about who eats who and how animals avoid being eaten. The tour will include an animal encounter which allows students to get up close to some of the animals they have learnt about.

This is a one hour guided tour through the zoo with one of our expert zoo keepers. This tour focuses on Australian animal life cycles and the different ways animals have babies. This tour will include an animal encounter that allows students the opportunity to get up close to some of the animals they have learnt about.

This is a one hour guided tour though the zoo with an expert zoo keeper. The tour will focus students’ learning about endangered animals and what we can do to help protect their habitats for the future survival of these species. The tour will include an animal encounter which gives students the opportunity to get up close with some of the animals they have learnt about.

Our WILD Guided Tours are offered at 10:30am and 11:30 am only Monday - Friday during NSW school terms.
Group Size
We can cater for a maximum 120 students per time slot.
Current Prices
$15.00 per student - just $4.00 more than our self-guided tour option.
These prices are for students attending an Australian primary or secondary school.
Range of Tours
Our experienced educators have designed tours specifically for each year group based on Australian Curriculum Standards. Throughout the booking process, teachers are given the opportunity to provide the booking agents with information on the content their classes are currently studying, allowing us to adapt the tour for the students attending.
Guided by our team of presentation keepers, teachers can rest assured that their students will gain an educational Australian animal experience like no other!
